NFDOG TO THE RESCUE AGAIN

There was something about the plumber that Saffy the cocker spaniel did not like.

In an instant, she had shot off from her new home in Hyde, near Fordingbridge, Hampshire where the plumber was installing a new boiler. Frantic searches by owner Christine Jordan drew a blank and she feared for the safety of her nervous rescue dog that never normally strayed beyond her land.

As the hours ticked by, NFDOG member Christine decided to make use of the group’s lost dog register. Within minutes of appealing for help, hundreds of fellow members had been given description and asked to look out for Saffy.

Luck was on her side because one of two women who found Saffy wandering on then main A338 Ringwood-Salisbury road was an NFDOG member who had seen the appeal.

Christine was alerted and rushed to the scene about a mile away to be re-united with Saffy. “She was very cold and very frightened,” said Christine. “It was such a relief to get her back. NFDOG’s lost dog register is a wonderful service and I am telling lots of other dog owners about it to encourage them to join.”

Any member who has not told us their email address who would like to be contacted in that way should send a note to mail@newforestdog.org.uk
