Out on a ride

The Burley Villa School of Riding offers fun days out for everyone - whether young or old, beginners or seasoned horse-riders. New Forest Hacks are based on the riders’ ability – with walk rides for the novice, through to trot and canter rides for the more experienced. Along the way, as you meander through heathland and woodland, you will see the free-roaming New Forest ponies, and you will visit the habitats of deer, fox and badger.

To improve your skills, lessons are available in the arena. Lessons cater for children and adults who want to learn to ride from scratch or who haven't ridden in years, and for those seasoned riders who want to learn dressage and jumping. You can even learn to ride western style – which is said to be an easy, relaxing and secure way to ride a horse. If you decide to take the Sunset Trail, you will be offered a sizzling barbecue on your return.

For more details about the Burley Villa Equestrian Centre, telephone 01425 610278, fax: 01425 614922, email: burleyv@globalnet.co.uk or see the Burley Villa website.
