Longdown Activity Farm offers a great chance to meet lots of friendly farm animals and to try your hand at being a farmer for a day! Among some of the things on offer are:

  • Milking – you can watch the milking in the afternoon and get an insight into how a modern farm is managed;
  • Farm work – adults can be a farmer for a day, taking on chores such as cleaning out the pig styes, calf-feeding, milking a cow, and even driving a tractor! Guides for adult groups can be arranged – ideal for disabled people or elderly visitors;
  • Getting close to the animals – children can bottle feed the lambs and calves, hold a chick, brush the miniature ponies and get really close to other animals;
  • Playareas – these offer fun for children of all ages;
  • A spacious picnic area – located next to the refreshment kiosk;
  • Poppies gift shop – sells an excellent range of gifts.

The farm is located just off the A35 between Lyndhurst and Southampton. It is excellent for all ages, and is wheelchair-friendly. All school groups are given fully guided tours at no extra charge. Open daily, from Easter to the end of October.
